2011 - 2021
Shobha's paintings in oil and acrylic tell a story. Her recent works of art fuse human emotion set against an architectural background using bright colors & highlights. She uses knife stroke or brush stroke based on clients needs on wood panel, canvas board, canvas or wall. Her preferred style is palette knife painting using oil or acrylic mixed with gloss gels.
Heat & Wind
In this painting, I tried to depict the luminous splendor of Rajasthan's sun-kissed dessert with camels on the run set against the sunrise backdrop. The traditional attire of the Rajasthani girl with pots symbolizes heat and wind.
Street dancing and live music are portrayed in this painting where additive gels mixed with acrylic was used to give a thick texture on to the 4 feet X 4 feet canvas
Happy Go Lucky!
This artwork depicts three women in their traditional finery joyfully stepping down the stone stairways. Using acrylic gels real mirrors and gem stones were glued onto the skirts. Original painting 2 feet X 3 feet sold to a private collector.
Rain, Rain Come Again!
This painting uses acrylic on wood board and is about 4 feet X 4 feet. My passion is to depict motion and emotion on a static canvas.
Love at First Note
My signature style of painting involves the use of knife strokes and acrylics with thick gels to add texture to the paintings.
